Work is underway on a £200,000 expansion project at Brean Splash that will create new facilities and jobs.

Ten new jobs will be created at the centre when the new gym and water slide facilities open later this year.

A new 60-metre long waterslide is planned for the swimming pool that will be accessed from inside the main pool complex.

Park Director Sarah House told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “With the Splash Zone fun pool we added last year we have lots of things for younger children to enjoy, and this new slide will give older children something extra to do when they visit us and with it being indoors, it will be able to operate all year round.”

A modern new gym is also being built with a range of cardio equipment, as well as multiple ‘strength stations’, plus separate changing facilities and access to a separate steam room and sauna.

“We are looking forward to the addition of a gym at Brean Splash to enhance our current facilities and offer a full choice of leisure activities,” Sarah told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The mezzanine floor that will house the gym is now in place and we are focusing on equipment provision and internal layout. From talking to potential customers one of the key things we are being told is not to over complicate the equipment – ease of use is really important as well as ample car parking.”

As well as a ‘pay as you go’ option and monthly gym memberships, there will be membership combinations with swimming and golf so customers can enjoy all the facilities, she added.
