Busy end to fun-filled term for Brent Knoll School students

Students from Brent Knoll School had a busy end-of-term by taking part in an annual Easter Egg run and joining a martial arts demonstation.

The weather stayed fine for the popular Brent Knoll Easter Egg Run where the pupils and their families dashed up to the top of the hill to claim a chocolate gift.

Seperately, after a short, but demanding course of training, 20 children put on a demonstration of martial arts skills for visiting parents and friends at the end of term.

The children had been coached by Craig Bissett, a familiar face in the school who runs his own martial arts training company, B-Elite.

Chris Burman, Headteacher of Brent Knoll School, said: "The martial arts club does a wonderful job of combining exercise with the development of self-esteem and confidence."

At the end of the display, the children received certificates and trophies for their efforts. Craig said: "I really enjoyed working with the students, there was great support from the school. I was super proud of all the students at the presentation day - they all had worked so so hard there were many proud parents."
