building site in Highbridge is branded a 'disgrace'
councillors in Highbridge have this week called for more to be
done to improve the appearance of a boarded-up building site in
the town centre.
Bill Hancock told a council meeting that the former Canal House
development site next to the Market Street roundabout is a "disgrace".

District Council spokeswoman Claire Faun said: "The matter
has been rectified as new screening boards have recently gone
up. We cannot force someone to develop their site."
House was previously occupied by a furniture shop which was demolished
in 2012. It has been boarded up ever since.
planning permission for a development of 14 flats at the site
was given in 2010, as we reported here.
