Carnival clubs from across Somerset gathered together for the annual Highbridge and Burnham Carnival presentation evening on Saturday night (January 23rd).

Over 200 people crowded into Highbridge's Oaktree Arena to see more than 40 trophies and shields presented to the winners of last November's parade by Burnham Carnival Chairman Phil New and President Malcolm Borland.

Members of Burnham's Hillview Carnival Club, pictured below, also had a great night, receiving several awards for their successful Christmas-themed cart 'It's A Cracker'.

The Spirit Of Carnival Award - given to the individual that has shown the true spirit of carnival - was awarded to hard-working carnival volunteer Stuart Cassidy, pictured above, while Pentathlon Carnival Club received the Chairman's Award.

Phil New, Chairman of Highbridge and Burnham Carnival Committee, told "It was a great night when the clubs from across Somerset came together to look back at a super year. As usual, there was plenty of good banter and discussion."
