Burnham and Highbridge Town Clerk set to step down in March 2017

-

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Town Council Clerk Denise Emery is set to step down from her role during 2017.

The Chairman of the Council, Mayor Michael Clarke, accepted the Town Clerk’s resignation this week, and she is set to leave for pastures new on 31st March 2017.

Town councillors gave her their best wishes for the future at the end of their latest meeting, held on Monday (December 13th).

“Denise has done a superb job and we wish her well for the future – she will be a sad loss for the council,” Cllr Clarke told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Denise has seen the Town Council through a busy period over the last four years, including the town centre improvements project. In 2011 The Town Council took over The Princess Theatre from Sedgemoor District Council which also came with further tasks for Denise.

Recruitment for a new Town Clerk will get underway in the New Year and will be featured on Burnham-On-Sea.com.
