Flowers have been laid in Burnham-On-Sea in memory of a four year-old boy who drowned after falling from the town’s jetty exactly four years ago.

Dylan Cecil died in the sea in August, 2012 and his family have left flowers next to a plaque in his memory at the top of the jetty.

Several safety improvements have been made since the tragedy by the jetty’s owner, Sedgemoor District Council.

These include extra warning signs around the jetty, an audible warning system at the jetty building, and an enhanced beach lifeguard service.
