Burnham-On-Sea school to hold Fairtrade coffee morning today

Children from a Burnham-On-Sea school will be holding a unique Fairtrade coffee morning at St Andrew's Church in the town today (Wednesday March 9th).

The children of St Andrew's School will be making and serving coffee to visitors to promote the idea of 'Fairtrade', which they have been studying as part of their lessons.

Vicar Graham Witts told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "This is Fairtrade Fortnight and the children of St Andrew's School are hosting a Cafe in St Andrew's Church today between 10am and 11.30am."

"A number of activities are on offer include information boards about trade between the First and Third World markets. There will also be a quiz for people to do, and a stall selling Fairtrade products."

"Come along for a delicious up of Fairtrade coffee or tea and help Third World farmers get a better - and fairer - share of the profits from their goods."

Fairtrade promotes fairness in trading between the first and third world and allows third world farmers to keep a larger percentage of the price of their goods rather than it becoming a supermarket profit.
