Police issue appeal to locate specific witness following fatal collision

Police are appealing for the public’s help to identify a specific witness who may have information about a collision in which a pedestrian died.

Edith Caunt, 86, of Uphill, died following a collision involving a black Land Rover Freelander on the A370 Bridgwater Road between Burnham-On-Sea and Weston at 5.35pm on Sunday 31st July.

"We’re trying to identify a man who was around 30 years old, wearing an orange t-shirt, who was driving a small hatchback vehicle."

"He told other witnesses he’d seen the collision so we need to speak to him as part of our continuing investigation."

"If this is you, or you know who it may be, please call the Collision Investigation Unit at Almondsbury via 101, quoting log number 878 of 31/7."
