Almost 200 runners ready for Burnham-On-Sea Half Marathon today

Almost 200 runners will be taking part in the Burnham-On-Sea Half Marathon today (Sunday, 2nd October).

The starting gun will be fired at 11am at Burnham's BASC Ground to signal the start of the annual 13-mile run.

Motorists are being advised to take extra care as the runners head along Love Lane and Queen's Drive, before turning left along the A38 towards Brent Knoll and then on to East Brent, Lympsham, Wick Road and Red Road, before returning to Burnham via Berrow Road.

Entry fees are £18 for UKA affiliated runners and £20 for others. Entry is limited to 500 competitors. There will be an extra £2 for entries on the day.

There will also be a one-mile fun run for younger runners, with entry costing just £2 per person on the day. A spokesman added that the club is grateful to the event's sponsors, Yeovil Glass and Proper Job of Burnham. will have full coverage of the event, plus full results.

It is still not too late to enter here but it is too late to start training for it!
