Stranded horse rescued by Burnham-On-Sea fire crews in Highbridge

Fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea and Bridgwater rescued a horse stuck in a ditch in Highbridge on Sunday morning (April 10th).

The fire service was called to Alstone Lane at 7am where a horse had become stranded in a water-filled rhyne.

One fire appliance from Burnham-On-Sea and a specialist rescue team from Bridgwater were sent to the incident and the horse was released using water safety equipment and strops.
