Burnham-On-Sea motorists and pedestrians are being warned to expect icy roads and pavements as temperatures drop well below freezing this week.

Somerset County Council’s gritting team has been out overnight, salting roads in the Burnham area as the icy weather arrives.

The Met Office forecasts temperatures will fall to as low as -4C in the Burnham-On-Sea area over the next 24 hours.

“After a frosty start on Tuesday, it’ll be another fine and dry day with plenty of sunshine for most. Despite the sunshine, it will be cold and maximum temperatures will only be 4C, falling to -4C overnight into Wednesday,” says the Met Office.
