Burnham Coastguards and BARB called to search for missing children

Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards and a hovercraft crew from BARB Search & Rescue were called to Weston on Wednesday afternoon (August 17th) to search for two missing children.

The crews were called out just after 3.30pm to back up Weston Coastguards in a search for the youngsters who were reported to be missing on Weston Beach.

“There was concern from the parents, who had lost sight of their two children for a length of time with an incoming tide,” said a Coastguard spokesman.

Police and beach wardens were quickly on scene and the crews were joined by Weston lifeboats to search the beach and tideline. Fortunately, the children were quickly found safe and well.
