A free pirate-themed family fun day held on Burnham-On-Sea’s beach on Sunday (October 2nd) has been hailed a success.

The family event was held on the town’s main beach next to The Pavillion and included a number of activities, including pirate-themed games, water games and entertainment.

A ‘pirate battle’ on the beach was also held between families and youngsters to end the afternoon.

“There was great enthusiasm from the children and great support from the parents and the weather was fantastic which helped to make the day,” said organiser Gaynor Brown.

“Many parents asked if it was going to take place next year, and a number of people thought it was a good idea and had made their day in Burnham very good.”
