A free pirate-themed family fun day is to be held on Burnham-On-Sea beach on Sunday (October 2nd).

The family event is to be held on the town’s main beach next to The Pavillion.

A number of activities are being lined up, including pirate-themed games, water games and entertainment.

A ‘pirate battle’ on the beach will also be held with families and youngsters over 4 years-old welcome.

“It will be held from 2-4pm with lots of silly wet pirate fun in the annual Battle of the Beach. It will happen regardless of the weather!” says the organiser.

“Look the part if you can but landlubbers are welcome too. This is a free event with the aim of getting very wet and very dirty some be prepared!”

“It is often busy and boisterous and is not suitable for little ones under four. Please don’t leave your chlld as this is not a chrech!”
