-

Two projects to upgrade play areas in the Burnham-On-Sea area have been completed this week with official openings.

Two £10,000 schemes to introduce new swings in Burnham-On-Sea’s Rosewood Park and in Rooksbridge have been completed

The works include the installation of an inclusive-use basket swing, two junior flat swings and two toddler cradle swings.

Sedgemoor District Council spokeswoman Sam Taylor said: “The new Rosewood play equipment, costing £10,000 and funded by the developer Persimmon, is set into new rubber-bonded safety surfacing.”

Sedgemoor District Council managed the installation of the new equipment following discussion with local residents on their play equipment preferences.

Meanwhile, work to install a brand new children’s play area with six items of equipment has also just been completed in Joseph’s Pound, Rooksbridge, pictured below.

The new play area includes an inclusive basket swing, one flat swing for juniors, a cradle swing for toddlers, a 4-child see-saw, buggy springy and inclusive dish roundabout.
