Life-size polar bear set to visit Burnham-On-Sea today!

-

Burnham-On-Sea is set to welcome an incredibly realistic polar bear today (Saturday) who was a huge hit with families in the town last Christmas.

Nanuq, a life-sized animatronic polar bear, will delight young and old alike, when he appears on Saturday 10th December at 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm at the Ritz Social Club in Victoria Street as part of the Town Council’s ‘Frostival’ event.

A Town Council spokeperson told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Our Frostival gathers pace in Burnham-On-Sea with Bjorn and the polar bear arriving.”

“The bear and his handler will be appearing three times. Friends, families and bear-loving adults are welcome to meet him and have their photograph taken with him.”

“We will also have Santa Claus with us too, who will be on hand to welcome visitors from 10am and there will also be entertainers and choirs out and about in the town centre.”

Entry to this event is free of charge. The Ritz Social Club is also hosting a pop-up craft fair. This event was very popular last year and families wishing to attend are advised to arrive early and be prepared to leave pushchairs in the foyer. There is a preview of the polar bear here.
