that Burnham-On-Sea Police had arrested a woman after the theft
of a Poppy Appeal collection box in Brean last week.
Police were called to Brean's McColls store in South Road on Thursday
November 10th when staff reported the charity box had been taken.
Poppy Appeal Organiser Ruth Crosby said: "There has been lots
of support from shocked residents in Brean after the theft of the
collection box. The extra donations have been given to the Poppy
Appeal and we thank all for their support."
spokeswoman Niamh Byrne told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We were called
to a shop in South Road, Brean, at around 4.20pm to reports of the
theft of a charity tin. A 37-year-old woman was later arrested and
reported for summons for the offence."
