winners of Burnham-On-Sea's annual Sailing Regatta have been announced
after two weekends of yacht racing in Bridgwater Bay.
MP James Heappey presented the Harry Gratton Trophy to the crew
of the winning yacht, called Super Sapphire, during a presentation
at the town's Yacht Club on Sunday evening (July 17th).
Jackson, Stuart Harvey and Dave Barrett were named the overall
winners following a series of handicap and pursuit races.
Jackson told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "It wasn't over until the
last moment of the final race - the second-placed yacht Walrus
was closing in on us at the finish, so it's great to have won!"
added: "Light winds and plenty of sunshine provided ideal
conditions for this year's regatta and it was such a pleasure
to take part again."
Heappey added: "The sailing club here is an important part
of Burnham-On-Sea and there's nothing better in a seaside resort
than to have lots of yachts sailing. It's great for residents
and visitors and I do hope the town continues to give its support
to the gig racing and sailing."

been a great regatta with two good weekends of racing that have
been enjoyed immensely bvy everyone at the club. I would say,
