Burnham-On-Sea cinema gets huge new film-themed street art

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Ritz Cinema has become the latest town centre building to get a new look thanks to a huge piece of street art.

The cinema’s north wall has been decorated with huge film-themed artwork by a street artist who’s known as SPO76.

Becky Hewlitt, who oversaw Burnham’s Spray Jam street art festival in the summer, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The artwork is his biggest-ever piece.”

“It illustrates film over the years and contains 13 film characters – including a back To The Future character who’s hidden amongst the art.”

“There has been lots of positive feedback on this laest piece of artwork, which is part of our overall street art trail around Burnham.”

Becky has been thanked for her work in organising the Spray Jam festival by Burnham and Highbridge Town Council, who gave funding towards the project to enable it to go ahead during August. Plans for a 2017 festival are currently being worked on.
