Burnham-On-Sea cinema screening raises £490 for two good causes

-

A fundraising movie screening in Burnham-On-Sea has raised hundreds of pounds for two good causes.

A screening of the film The Theory of Everything – which tells the life story of Stephen Hawking, was shown at The Ritz Cinema on Monday (January 11th).

A capacity audience watched the film and raised a total of £490.50 which was split between the Highbridge Festival of the Arts and the Motor Neurone Disease Association, whose Chairman Mr Mike Price spoke about the incurable disease.

Organiser Jenny Golding told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We wish to thank all those who helped with the fundraising and running of the event, especially Mr and Mrs Scott of The Ritz. Existing members of the audience also added to the funds of the MNDA by donating separately.”
