Police issue appeal after attempted robbery in Burnham-On-Sea

Burnham-On-Sea Police are appealing for witnesses after two people were threatened during an attempted robbery in Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday evening (May 26th).

A 61-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman were walking along a pathway in Worston Lane around 8pm when they were approached by two men.

The men threatened the victims with an unknown bladed weapon or object and demanded money.

Police say the offenders made off empty-handed along Worston Lane, possibly in the direction of Priestley Way.

"One of the men was white, 6ft, possibly in his twenties, of slim build and wearing a black hooded top or bottoms with a grey scarf covering his face," said a police spokesman.

"The second was 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins, of slim build, wearing the same style of clothing as the first man."

"If you saw these men, or any part of the incident, or if you have information which could help our investigation please call us via 101 quoting reference 5216115092."
