Trapped seagull is rescued from netting by Burnham-On-Sea fire crew

-

A seagull trapped in netting on the roof of a Burnham-On-Sea town centre business was rescued by firefighters on Wednesday (August 10th).

A Burnham-On-Sea fire crew was called out to the High Street to bring down the bird using an extension ladder, as pictured here.

The incident occurred above Calm Gourmet Coffee Bar on Wednesday afternoon just after 1.30pm.

The northern end of Burnham High Street was temporarily closed to traffic while the crew carried out the high-rise rescue.

A worried passer-by had raised the alarm after spotting the bird struggling in netting at the edge of the roof.

The bird was handed over to carers at Secret World in East Huntspill for treatment.
