Police say that a Highbridge man who went missing earlier this week – prompting a huge search operation and an appeal to the public for help – has been found safe and well.

Simon Brown, 58, had been missing since 10am on Tuesday morning (30th August) when he was last seen in the Walrow Terrace area.

Police say he was found safely on Thursday and spokesman Wayne Baker told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are pleased to confirm that missing person Simon Brown has been found safe and well.”

“We’d like to thank everyone who helped in the search for Simon.”

Fire, police and ambulance crews descended on Highbridge on Tuesday during a major search operation to try and find him.

A police helicopter was also brought in to search several locations from the air along with a fire service rescue boat to scour several lakes and ponds.
