George's Day family fun to be held in Burnham and Highbridge today
Georges Day is to be celebrated at both Apex Park in Highbridge
and Marine Cove in Burnham-On-Sea with a line-up of free family
activities today (Saturday).
The day of fun is being organised by Sedgemoor District Councils
It will start at Marine Cove on Burnhams seafront from 10am
where visitors will be able to enjoy the gardens and make a woven

for those who succeed on their mission. Sedgemoor Model Boat Club
will also be on hand with special dragon boats on the lake called
Lucinda and Baby Lucy along with St Andrews Church running
will also be a chance to plant some snap dragon seeds
for those who are green-fingered and if you like balloons then
Balloonitude will be on hand creating themed balloon models.
Children are invited to attend any of the events in fancy dress
as a Princess or a Knight, or even a dragon!. Children must be
supervised at all times by parents or guardians. Visitors are
welcome to attend any of the activities.
Lizzies Kitchen, currently a finalist in the Western Daily
Press Food and Farming Awards, will also be open at Apex Park
offering some great snack and healthy options from her airstream
The event will see the friends groups from both of Sedgemoors
Green Flag award-winning parks working together on the joint fun
day. There will be the chance to talk to the Friends and find
out how to join the groups and get involved in future activities.
