Brean caravan park’s fun day raises over £530 for local cancer charity

The staff and customers at Brean’s Sunningcrest Caravan Park enjoyed near perfect weather conditions for their fundraising funday.

Hundreds of pounds was raised for local charity Breast Cancer Now during the day of fun.

Jake Lodge, owner of the park, said: “We enjoyed a really fun afternoon and would like to thank our customers, staff and everyone else who helped to make it such a successful event. We are delighted that together we raised £533 for Breast Cancer Now.”

Karen Major, whose family have had a caravan at Sunningcrest for over 35 years, became champion ‘washing pegger’ on the washing line game by hanging 25 items in just 76 seconds!

Paul Thompson was top striker on the football game whilst his brother Kevin became the ‘2016 Sunningcrest Wellie Wanger’ by throwing a distance of almost 25m! Chris Taylor, who purchased a caravan on the park only last month, won a free gas bottle in the raffle.

Becky Stockwell from Somerset Breast Cancer Now is pictured top receiving the cheque for the charity.
