Burnham-On-Sea Police in new appeal for witnesses after ram-raid

-

Police have issued a fresh appeal for help in identifying three ram-raiders who stole a large quantity of stock during a burglary at a town centre store in Burnham-On-Sea this week.

Police have appealed for witnesses after the raid at around 2am on Monday in which a car slammed into the front doors of Superdrug in Burnham’s High Street to gain access.

CCTV footage has been examined since the incident and police have also carried out door-to-door enquiries and performed forensic enquiries in a bid to try and identify the trio.

“A black or dark coloured Mazda was reversed into the front doors of Superdrug,” police spokesman Craig Evry told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Three men entered the store and stole a large quantity of fragrances. We’re appealing for anyone who saw this incident to come forward, as well as anyone who knows of a black or dark coloured Mazda which has suffered damage to its rear.”

Anyone who can help should contact the police’s Somerset Investigations team on 101 and give the call-handler the reference number 5216219693.

It’s not first time the store has been targeted by ram raiders. In October 2008 ram raiders attacked Burnham-On-Sea’s Superdrug store, stealing stock inside.

Then in December 2008 both Burnham-On-Sea’s Boots and Superdrug were raided and two men were later arrested and jailed.

Just last month, there was also a ram raid at Burnham’s Laptop Shop, was also struck by ram raiders who took iPads and laptops that were later recovered,
