Proposals to build 17 new homes next to Burnham-On-Sea’s Tesco store have been submitted to Sedgemoor District Council this week.

The ‘reserved matters’ application applies to the vacant land to the west of the supermarket in Ben Travers Way, behind the Rosewood pub, as shown above on the map.

An original planning application for 17 homes at the site was approved by Sedgemoor District Council back in February 2014 with several conditions placed on the developer to protect the privacy and amenity for local residents.

The applicant, EG Carter & Co of Gloucester, is now seeking consent for several ‘reserved matters’ items covering appearance, landscaping, layout and scale, suggesting that the development of the site may soon move forward despite a pause of almost three years.

Residents have until December 16th to submit feedback about the plans to Sedgemoor’s planning department. The application number is 11/16/00105.
