Emergency services were called to a serious accident on the A370 between Burnham-On-Sea and Weston on Friday evening (February 24th).

Police, fire and ambulance crews attended a two-car collision just before 5pm near the junction of Edingworth Road, close to Delhorn Kennels, as pictured here.

One person was trapped in their vehicle and was cut free by fire crews before being taken to hospital by ambulance.

The road was closed while crews were on scene, with traffic diverted around the scene, causing delays to evening traffic.

A fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The Fire Service were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles. Two appliances from Burnham-On-Sea attended.”

“Crews confirmed this to be a two vehicle road traffic collision with one person trapped.”

“Crews got to work stabilising the vehicle, removing the doors and roof, together with small tools and hydraulic cutting equipment.”

“By 6pm, one male casualty had been removed from the vehicle and conveyed to hospital by road ambulance.”
