An air ambulance landed at Apex Park in Highbridge on Saturday afternoon (February 18th) to help a young patient.

The red Devon air ambulance hovered above the busy park before surprising walkers and other park users by landing on a grassy area near the lakes at around 2.30pm, as pictured here.

A child requiring emergency treatment was brought to the helicopter on a stretcher by ambulance crews before being moved onto the craft to be flown to hospital for treatment.

Spokeswoman Sarah Burden told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called to attend a male child with a medical emergency. We took him to Musgrove Park.”

The Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance were already on a job elsewhere.
