Burnham-On-Sea air cadets thanked for raising £750 for Wings Appeal

-

Burnham-On-Sea air cadets have received awards for their work in collecting funds for the annual Wings Appeal.

Air cadets and staff from the Detached Flight 290 Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge squadron attended the Royal Air Force Association Weston-super-Mare branch this week where their efforts were formally recognised.

“The Wings Appeal helps raise the vital funds needed to support serving and former serving RAF personnel and their families, whenever they are in need,” said Chris Garrett, Officer Commanding of 290 Squadron RAFAC.

“In 2016 through various fundraising events the cadets raised over £750 for the charity.”

Trophies and certificates were handed over by the branch chairman, Charlie Hewson BEM, to recognise the cadets’ hard work and dedication.

On the same evening the cadets enjoyed a disco provided by RAFA as a way of thanking them.
