Tiny badger orphan Starlight is rescued near Burnham-On-Sea

-

Wildlife carers from the Burnham-On-Sea area are looking after this tiny badger orphan.

The team at Secret World Wildlife Rescue Centre in East Huntspill are helping Starlight, as he’s been named by carers.

Founder Pauline Kidner told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “He was found alone in a very cold and wet state in a local field last week.”

“He was less than five days old, with his eyes still closed, and is very tiny.”

“Starlight weighs just 196g, but with regular three-hourly feeds is now doing really well.”

“With a course of antibiotics and round the clock care, his loud noises at feeding time is a good sign!”

Starlight will be looked after around-the-clock by the carers over the coming moths and is due to be released in the autumn.
