The Great Burnham Bake Off returned on Saturday 27th May when the search was on to find the Champion of Champions.

The final bake-off competition in its current format was held during the tenth Burnham-On-Sea’s Food and Drink Festival.

The previous ten event winners were invited back to compete with their winning bakes to fiind the contest’s Champion of Champions.

Robin Warren was crowned the overall Champion of Champions, pictured above, while Dusica Roberts was named the Champion of Champions for professional bakers.

Ellie Williams was judged to be the Young Baker Champion. The Hainsby family was named the Champion Family, while Phil Harvey was named the Champion Individual Baker.

Robin Warren also won the technical challenge, while Isabelle Williams, above, was judged to be the top Under 15 baker. Margaret Smith, below, won the over 15 category.

Sponsor Debbie March from the Retreat Caravan Park said: “We have seen and tasted some amazing bakes over the past 10 competitions and we saw the creme de la creme of entries on Saturday – a very high standard.”

The judges were Debbie March, Dusica Roberts, Rosemary Jackson and Victoria Knowles-Lacks.

Festival co-organiser Bev Milner Simonds told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “A big thank you goes to everyone who has baked almost 700 entries over the past ten festivals.”

“We also thank our sponsors, Positive Wealth Creation Limited who backed us right at the beginning and Retreat Caravan Park in recent competitions.”

“While the Bake-Off is now being retired, we will have other new creative food competitions at the October festival to get excited about.”
