Lightning, sunshine and torrential rain... typical Bank Holiday weather!

A day of changeable weather saw sunshine, heavy showers and lightning sweep through the Burnham-On-Sea area on Bank Holiday Monday.

Several lightning strikes were in the afternoon from the top of Brean Down, as photographed here, as heavy showers swept through.

It comes after a very dry April - the driest month in the Burnham-On-Sea area for at least ten years. There was a rainfall total of just 11.8mm.

Video: Several lightning strikes - seen here on the right of the screen - were visible during a passing storm from Brean Down on Monday.
