Rumours circulating in Burnham-On-Sea that the town’s Boots chemist shop is set to close have been rejected by the company this week.
Several customers have said on social media that they’d heard the lease for the premises in Burnham’s High Street, pictured here, is due to expire soon and may not be renewed.
A Boots manager at the Burnham-On-Sea branch told Burnham-On-Sea.com they had heard the rumours several times in recent weeks.
“We don’t know why or where the rumours started but we can confirm that there are absolutely no plans to close, down-size or relocate this store,” he said.
And Bethan Simmons, a Boots HQ spokeswoman, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I can confirm that we have no current plans to close our store in Burnham-On-Sea.”
