Police have issued an appeal for witnesses after a walker was attacked by two youths on Brean beach.

The man was walking along the sands with his pet dog when he was attacked on Friday afternoon (May 26th).

The incident occurred at around 3.45pm and police are keen to speak to anyone who has information about what happened.

The pensioner was left with head and face injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene. Anyone with information should call Burnham-On-Sea Police on 101.

Police spokesman Craig Evry told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called to South Road in Brean at about 3.45pm on Friday (May 26) after a man was assaulted by two other men.”

“He suffered injuries to his head and was taken to Weston General Hospital for treatment. An investigation into this assault is continuing.”

“If anyone witnessed this assault, or knows who the offenders may be, we would encourage them to call us on 101. Please give the call handler the reference number 5217118179.”
