Brean Golf Club is holding its annual Sports Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament on Tuesday 20th June at the club to raise money for St Margaret’s Hospice and The Injured Jockeys Fund.

The 2017 event will mark the 27th running of the popular competition and the organisers already have a superb list of well-known sporting stars signed up to take part.

These include Radio Bristol’s former footballer Geoff Twentyman, Weston-super-Mare born Somerset County cricketer Peter Trego and his county colleague Max Waller, former Bristol Rovers’ midfielder Tony Pounder, Speedway Grand Prix Race Director Phil Morris and former National Hunt jockey champion John Francome, who is also Vice President of the Injured Jockeys Fund.

Joining them will be a sprinkling of PGA Professionals, led by Brean’s very own Director of Golf Andrew March, along with former Brean Professionals and Assistants including David Haines and Dan Keitch.

Andrew told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “After a fantastic turn out in 2016 we are looking forward to another successful day on 20th June! Everyone had a great time at the event last year. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, with Geoff Twentyman asking me to organise him a team again for this year.”

If you would like to enter a team and take part in this fantastic event, the cost is £200 per team of three, plus you will be allocated one of our celebrity sports stars to your team on the day. This includes complimentary tea and coffee, a full English breakfast before play, complimentary drinks tent on the 11th Hole and an evening meal with award’s ceremony.

If you are a local company that would like to donate a raffle prize for this event, we would be very grateful! If you are unable to submit a team, you can “Sponsor a Hole” for £100.

All monies involved will be split between the two chosen charities. This includes advertising in the events programme, banners around the course, and a mention in the press release following the event. Welcome is from 10:30am with a 12:30 shotgun start.
