Two BT telegraph poles were brought down across a road near Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday (November 23rd) following a two-vehicle collision.

Burnham-On-Sea fire crews were called just before mid-day to Blackford Road in the village of Mark, as pictured.

A van and a car had collided and brought down the BT poles across the roadway, causing the closure of the road.

Fire spokesman Paul Slaven told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called at 11.53am to Mark where two vehicles had collided and brought down two poles.”

“One person was still in their vehicle and was assessed by paramedics.”

“We put in place a safety cordon around the scene and dealt with a spillage of hydraulic fluid.”

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We received a call at 11.50am to reports of an RTC. We attended with one ambulance and one rapid response vehicle. This was a non-injury incident.”
