A warning has been issued to cat owners in Burnham-On-Sea town centre after a pet died after being sprayed with anti-freeze.

The cat died last week and its distraught owners say they are “lost” without him.

Stacey Linham explained how the incident occurred: “Most people know my cat, Harvey, in Burnham town centre where he always has sat watching the world go by.”

“He was kicked on Thursday and was uncomfortable. He rested himself and on Saturday couldn’t resist a walk in the sun to his spot at the end of the road.”

“I found him an hour later covered in water. He soon dried off and fell asleep.”

“However, on Sunday he lost his life and we now believe it was anti-freeze.”

“Thanks to the person who squirted it over him – he was part of a family and everyone’s best friend. How can people be so nasty, we are so lost without him.”

Burnham-On-Sea Police have been informed and cat owners in the town centre are being asked to aware.
