Burnham-On-Sea Cricket Club has held its annual presentation evening with awards being presented to its top players at the end of a successful season.

The Club celebrated the end of its 156th season by handing out trophies to its members of the year.

The 1st XI will make a welcome return to the Somerset Cricket League Premier Division for the 2018 season.

Chairman Andy Birkett told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There was once again a very good attendance of 60 members and guests.”

“After the meal was enjoyed, the main business of the evening followed – the presentation of the annual awards!”

The winners included Batting 1st XI: Robbie Driver; 2nd XI: Andy Ashfold; Bowling 1st XI: James Annison; 2nd XI: Luke Gowan; Batting Sunday XI: Brad House; Bowling Sunday XI: Andy Birkett.

Player of the Year in the 1st XI team was Brad House, while Player of the Year for 2nd XI team was Darren Aston.

Clubman of the Year was named as Lee Coles. Mid Week XI Player of the Year was Craig Scriven.

Brad House received a special award for scoring 1,161 runs in all cricket during 2017.

The Chairman thanked the President and Vinnies Bar as the club’s main sponsors, all the Committee members, the members who worked on the ground, and the Ladies who laid on wonderful teas.
