A fundraising curry night has raised hundreds of pounds for a Burnham-On-Sea rescue charity this week.

More than 60 people attended Tuesday’s meal at Wedmore’s Table Eight restaurant, raising £757 for BARB Search & Rescue.

They included supporters of the charity, plus crewmembers, family and friends and local Coastguard members.

BARB Operations Manager Mike Lowe said: “It was a fantastic evening that was enjoyed by all. Huge thanks go to Mahbub Rahman from Table Eight and his staff for allowing us to put on this event – the service and quality was out of this world!”

“Our thanks go to everyone who supported us by attending or donating items for the raffle – and a special thank you to Julia Wright for all her help in ensuring the evening was such a success.”

Local magician Luke Perry also performed his amazing Table Magic during the evening, entertaining those present while they ate.
