Emotional reason behind Burnham-On-Sea runner’s charity challenge

-

A Burnham-On-Sea man is on track to complete a run every day during 2017 as part of an emotional fundraising challenge.

David Browne has completed a run every day of the year so far, amounting to over 2,000km, with the aim of raising funds for Cancer Research.

He explains the heart-breaking reason for his fundraising feat: “Alongside my brother and sister, we lost our mum in 2000 – not through some carelessness misplacement but through the wicked disease that we call Cancer.”

“I have to admit that it is not something I’ve ever really come to terms with. On the contrary, I actually think it gets harder to accept.”

“As the years have gone on I’ve grown to realise just what it means to be a parent, watching my wife (Janine) love, protect and cherish everything about our three boys, whilst I continue to grow older and enjoy an ever evolving loving relationship with my dad and my own boys.”

“Sometimes life sucks and Cancer is to blame! So let’s kill Cancer, and all of the horrible, despicable situations it leaves behind.”

“Please sponsor me – not because of my story but because of the millions of stories that will never need to be told.”
