and Highbridge Town Clerk retires after 15 years at council
Dozens of people have attended a special function this week to mark
the retirement of Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge's Town Clerk.
Emery is retiring at the end of this month after 15 years at the
Town Council. New clerk Tatiana Cant has been appointed to take
on the role.
30 councillors, colleagues, friends and former councillors attended
a function in the Town Council Chambers on Wednesday evening (March
22nd) when Denise was thanked for her work over the years.

work over the years" alongside Deputy Mayor Bill Hancock and
his wife Francis, as pictured above.
was wished well for her retirement and presented with several gifts
including flowers and artwork.
has seen the Town Council through a busy period over the last four
years, which included the town centre improvements project in Burnham-On-Sea.
joined the council in 2002 as an admin assistant and later became
deputy clerk. I became Town Clerk four years ago and will miss the
role - it's been very busy, from keeping up with the latest council
legislation and documents to overseeing the council's buildings."
now planning to take a few months off, spending more time with my
family and then doing more craftwork in my retirement. I also hope
to start a new venture selling 'memory flowers' which are craft
flowers made of clothing fabric in memory of people who have passed
new Town Clerk, Tatiana started her role at the beginning of March
to allow for a month-long handover. She was previously Parish Clerk
in Cheddar and also previously worked in council roles in Martock
town clerks - Eileen Shaw, Denise Emery, Pauline Pollard and Tatiana
