crews rescue couple stuck in thigh-deep mud on Brean beach
holidaymakers were rescued on Wednesday morning (May 24th) after
getting stranded in mud on Brean beach, surrounded by thick fog.
from Burnham-On-Sea and crews from BARB Search and Rescue were called
out at 9.55am to help the man and woman, who had become stuck in
Spirit Of Lelaina 2 hovercraft flew out to reach the casualties,
who were extracted from the mud by Coastguards and then flown back
to the safety of the beach.

metres so it was difficult hovercraft flying conditions, but close
team working with the Coastguard meant we were able to locate the
two people and bring them safely back to the shore."
two people were checked over by an ambulance crew on the beach and
were found to be unhurt. Both are staying at a nearby holiday park
in the village.
