Burnham-On-Sea Food Festival organisers Beverley and Sarah Milner Simonds are celebrating this week after winning two accolades.

The duo, who are directors of Eat:Festivals, have been named ‘Best Event Organisers of the Year’ at the National Outdoor Event Association Awards.

They also have been awarded a Gold award at the Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards as the ‘Tourism Event of the Year’.

Bev told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “To be recognised by one’s peers is phenomenal and we were delighted to have made the shortlist. We pour a lot of love, care and time into creating festivals that work for our visitors, the producers and our host towns.”

“We have loved developing Eat: Festivals this year and are delighted to be planning two great festivals in Burnham-On-Sea for 2018.”

Sarah added that she was ‘delighted’ with the awards: “When the shortlist for the NOEA awards were announced we were delighted to be finalists in three categories, Best PR Campaign, Best Organisers and Best Event.”

“To have won is testiment to all the hard work of the team and the support of our partners and sponsors.”

A spokesman for the National Outdoor Event Association Awards said: “This recognises two people for their passion and commitment for running multiple events and targeting the next generation.”
