Burnham-On-Sea running club to hold fundraising runs and fun day

Burnham-On-Sea Harriers running club are holding two events to raise funds for charity this weekend.

The club is organising the Pawlett Plod 5km and 10km races on Bank Holiday Monday, starting at 2pm, with music through the afternoon.

Starting from Pawlett Pavilion, the runners will jog along a picturesque coastal route next to the River Parrett before heading back through the countryside.

All proceeds will go to Cancer Research UK with entry on the day costing £10 for the 10km race and £5 for the 5km race.

There will also be live music and entertainment through the afternoon next to the Pawlett Pavilion from 2pm.

Local music acts will be: 12pm Cerys, 1pm Pete Stearn, 2.30pm Nicky Stevens, 3.30pm Leuan and Cat, 4.30pm The Lampellys, 5.30pm Muddy Parrott, 6.45pm Tilly and Co, 8pm Drop the Mic, 9.30pm Bouncing Biscuit.

There will also be a bouncy castle, face painting, outdoor games, a tombola, raffle, BBQ, cakes and ice creams – all in aid of Cancer Research UK.

On Saturday 26th August at 8pm, the club is holding a charity quiz night at Pawlett British Legion for Cancer Research UK for teams of four, £1 a head.
