fire crews tackle barn blaze with 500 bales of hay
and Bridgwater firefighters were called out to tackle a big blaze
involving 500 bales of hay on a farm in Cossington during the early
hours of Saturday (June 3rd).
crews attended the incident in Whitchey Drove shortly before 1am
crews remained on scene until 6am to fully extinguish the blaze,
working with hose reel jets and compressed air foam jets to protect
the nearby barn and allow the main fire to burn out.
said: "The Fire Service received a call reporting a large amount
of hay on fire. Two fire appliances from Bridgwater and Burnham-On-Sea
arrival the Incident Commander requested the attendance of a Water
Carrier which was sent from Bridgwater."

6.18am, they confirmed the fire was out and the incident was left
in the hands of the land owner.
