Motorists faced long delays through Highbridge on Tuesday afternoon (July 25th) after a car flipped over onto its roof in an accident.

The incident occurred shortly after 1pm in Burnham Road, Highbridge, and Police diverted traffic around the scene.

Police spokesman Wayne Baker told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called to reports of a car on its roof in Burnham Road at about 1.10pm.”

“This happened outside Churchfield School. An occupant is reported to have an arm injury that’s not believed to be serious.”

There were delays to traffic in the area while recovery of the vehicle took place and the road was back open again mid-afternoon.
