More than 80 people flocked to a fundraiser for Burnham-On-Sea’s War Memorial Hospital last Saturday evening (October 14th).

The Friends Of Burnham Hospital organised a Music Night at the Oaktree Arena in Highbridge to raise money for the hospital’s work.

Friends Chairman Bernard Spilsbury told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had a great turnout and thank everyone who came along for their support.”

“The King Alfred Concert Band played for the first hour and they were followed by the Ambassadors of Jazz.”

“The Violin Solo, the Theme from ‘Shindler’s List’ played by Annie Tiso, backed by the Concert Band was a hit with the audience with people still talking about it after the event.”

“The friends would like to thank all of the people that bought tickets supporting us on the night. They enjoyed two excellent bands playing very different styles of music and helped us raise £450 for use in Burnham Hospital.”

The group’s next music event will be a Free Entry with ticket only event, a Christmas Concert at the Methodist Church, College Street on Friday 1st December starting at 7pm. There will be refreshments, a raffle and a retiring collection.
