Burnham-On-Sea runner heads to New York for his 54th half marathon

-

A Burnham-On-Sea fundraiser is set to jet off to America to take part in the New York Half Marathon.

Jason Vickers, who works at Burnham’s Tesco supermarket, has raised over £23,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society since he started running.

He will be travelling to America for the first time during March to jog in the New York event, which will be his 54th half marathon!

The plucky runner, who suffers from Crohn’s Disease, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I’m really looking forward to taking part in my first half marathon in America.”

“I love running and have completed 53 half marathons since 1987 and hope to do seven this year to further increase my charity total which currently stands at £23,260!”

“I would like to thank all my supporters locally for all their support and everyone at Tesco in Burnham for their encouragement.”
