Hundreds of people headed to Burnham-On-Sea beach at the weekend to take part in the town’s fourth annual Kite Festival.

The two-day free event saw demonstrations and displays taking place with many visitors taking the chance to fly a range of kites with the help of experts.

Despite a blustery weekend of weather, organiser Gaynor Brown says it was well attended.

“We had hundreds of people come along over the two days,” she told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“While we had too much wind for all our kites, it was great to see so many being launched into the skies and people enjoying a lot of fun flying them.”

She added that a night glow kite flying session on Saturday evening was among the new attractions. She also thanked Burnham Pavilion for its support as a sponsor.
